Kerli – Army of Love
This Estonian Bubble-pop Goth-esss recently released her new video and single from her forthcoming album called “Army Of Love”. You might not recognize Kerli by name but you will probably remember her notable hit from 2008 called “Walking On Air”. I remember hearing the remix of that song everywhere I went. The video was a bit on the creepy side but the song had a catchy, inescapable sound.
I have to admit thou, other than Walking On Air I didn’t know much about Kerli ’till I saw her interview with AOL. I was actually pleasantly surprise to find out about her modest background and where her bubble pop goth aesthetics comes from “…While growing up in a communist mindset where nobody could be creative or artistic or, God forbid, different in any way, I really felt a strong need to escape the gray surroundings, so I actually started creating a fantasy world for myself since I was very little,” (see the interview on the next page) Another great thing about Kerli is that, unlkie many pop artist, she actually writes, produces her music and creates her own outfits! That’s a lot to ask from a pop artist!
Here is the Official video for “Army Of Love” and the FREE download of the remix by Cherry Cherry Boom Boom.
