Although most people associate the name Juliette Lewis with movies, most music lovers like you and I know very damn well that she’s been kicking serious ass in the music scene for more than a decade now. First, as a frontwoman for the band Juliette and The Licks — they produced two insanely good albums, 2005’s You’re Speaking My Language and 2006’s Four on The Floor— and later as a lone rock-goddess with her killer 2009 solo-debut, Terra Incognita.
After years apart, Juliette And The Licks have finally reunited (hallelujah!!), announcing a string of live shows and promising new music very soon. But first, to satisfy our pop-rock thirst, Lewis has released a brand new track called, “Hello Hero”; a groovy, 70s-vibing pop-track with a really catchy hook co-written and produced with Florence and the Machine’s Isabella Summers. The track coincides with the release of the documentary Hard Lovin’ Woman, a short film directed by Michael Rapaport which explores the sacrifices Lewis has made to pursue her first love, music. If you never had the pleasure of seeing Juliette Lewis live, watch the 30-min film to get a glimpse of her electric bravado and contagious energy onstage.
