Tinashe’s new full-length album Joyride (the follow-up to 2014’s Aquarius) has been in a sort-of limbo state since its announcement early in the year. Back in April, things looked a bit grim when she had to postponed the rest of her Joyride World Tour due to “unexpected recording commitments.” So who knows exactly what’s been going on behind the curtains…
Yesterday, the R&B songstress released a brand new summery pop-jam called “Superlove”; signaling that things might just be falling back into gear!
“I have felt a strong urge recently to release a song that promotes positivity, love, and light,” she said in a press release. ‘Superlove’ is a celebration of happiness. More specifically, it celebrates the kind of happiness that is so immense and infectious, that you can’t help but to rejoice in it. I hope to eulogize this wonderful energy and make people feel good, love harder, and dance together.”
The track, produced by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, is probably one of her most pop-friendly tunes yet; It has a bouncy, R&B groove with a bit of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” attitude mixed in. We love it.
