Elliphant – “Music Is Life” [Official Video]

Although we’ve been blogging about Swedish artist Elliphant (aka Ellinor Olovsdotter) from the very beginning, we don’t think people have yet caught-up to the sheer magnificence of Elliphant’s infectious gender-bending sound yet—but I think that’s about to change. Ever since we heard (and wrote about) Elliphant’s island-tinged, radio friendly banger “Music Is Life” we knew immediately it was theee song that will finally push the singer out of the blogs into your iPods.

Music Is Life’ was  recorded in both Sweden and Jamaica earlier this year and is her first official single in the States. The track features Jamaican roots & reggae artist Ras Fraser Jr. It’s also the first official release under Dr. Luke’s Sony Music Entertainment label Kemosabe Records.  Music Is Life’ is a celebration of the two respective cultures and the signature sounds that derive from them; perfectly blending soulful reggae with 90’s inspired pop beats and synths.

Check out the cool as sh*t video for the single below and be sure to grab ‘Music Is Life’ as well as Elephant’s banging Self-titled debut EP on iTunes…and get your party on!

Elliphant – “Down On Life” [New Single]

Early this year we introduced you to Swedish electro-pop act, Elliphant (aka Ellinor Olovsdotter) and her killer, adrenaline driven dance cut “In The Jungle” (Here)

The talented musician just dropped her brand new single…and it’s incredible. “Down On Life” beautifully blends dubstep, hip-hop and dancehall grooves over suave, airy vocals that fall between Robyn and Santigold. Superb track! Take a listen!

The track is taken from Elliphant’s self-titled debut EP

Introducing: Elliphant – In The Jungle [Track + New Video]

Introducing Elliphant, a new female-fronted act from Sweden that’s gaining some serious cred around the blogosphere due to their electro-charged dance tunes.

Elliphant arrives via Company Ten, the same management team who brought us Icona Pop and Niki & the Dove. But while those bands deliver solid, straight-forward (and really great) pop music, Elliphant serves a more experimental, adrenaline driven dance songs. Their current video In The Jungle” feels like a glorious union between The Knife, Justice, and Diplo. The track’s instantly addictive percussion and slow-building synth sirens will lure you into a dancefloor within seconds. The only drawback is that the track is less than 2mins long so it leaves you wanting more. In The Jungle” is simply intoxicating and all around AMAZING!

Take a look at the video and listen to another banging track called “TeKKno Scene, a bouncy tribal jam that sounds like a refined Major Lazer production featuring up-and-coming Swedish rapper Adam Kanyama.

So good!!
