Empire Of The Sun – “Alive” [Gold Fields Remix]

In addition to releasing ‘Black Sun,’ one of our favorite pop-rock albums of the year, Australia’s Gold Fields have giving us plenty to dance about with their fresh dance remixes for Chela (here), Passion Pit and Yelle. Now the boys of Gold Fields show off their production talents once more with their brilliantly catchy, up-tempo remix of fellow Australians Empire of the Sun’s ‘Alive.’

Listen to their bouncy, disco-tinged remix of the track which includes a crazy-cool trumpet solo by Spencer Ludwig of Capital Cities.

‘Alive’ is take from Empire of the Sun’s new album, Ice On The Dune. Out Now.

Chela – “Romanticise” [Gold Fields Remix]

As an electro-pop and dance artist, Chelsea Wheatley aka Chela is already known for her incredible collaborations with Ben Ely (‘Plastic Gun’), LeBruce (‘Full Moon’ & ‘Guts’) and her vocal features on Goldroom’s summer anthem ‘Fifteen’ and more recently Clubfeet’s newest single ‘Heartbreak.’

Now signed to French label Kitsuné, the Australian songstress is readying her new EP, Romanticise, featuring remixes by Gold Fields, Boys Get Hurt, Collarbones and more.

Today we get a free download and a taste of one of those remixes by none other then Gold Fields! The Australian dance rock quintet gives Chela’s “Romanticise” an uptempo yet chilled out makeover, adding swirling synths that bubble with effervescence. We’re also adding below a copy of Chela’s Zero Mixtape featuring some early works by the singer and some of the tracks mentioned above. Download, play, get your party-on and get know Chela!

Chela’s Romanticise EP arrives 8/26 via Kitsuné

Gold Fields – “Dark Again” [Diamond Rings Remix]

Gold Fields - Dark Again

My favorite band at the moment, Gold Fields receives a cool dance remix for “Dark Again,” by Canadian, synth-pop tour mate, Diamond Rings! The killer remix debuted today over at Noisey.

Diamond Rings tells Noisey:

“After hearing “Dark Again” so many times on tour (always a good thing) it was a real challenge to try and re-imagine the song as a remix. Working in the tour van between shows on a laptop isn’t always ideal but that’s how I ended up putting everything together. When I listen back to the mix it takes me back to all of the sights and sounds that I soaked up while traveling across America with the Diamond Rings band and those amiable Australians.”

Check out the killer remix below! “Dark Again” is taken from the band’s upcoming debut, Black Sun due out in February 26!

P.S. I recently received an early copy of Black Sun… all I have to say right now is that it’s MAJOR! These guys are gonna be huge!!

Gold Fields – “Dark Again” [NEW TRACK!!]

Australian electro-dance-rockers Gold Fields returns with another killer track entitled “Dark Again,” off their upcoming debut LP, Black Sun due out in January!

We introduced you to Gold Fields back in November of last year (here) and I remember calling these guys the next best thing—I still stand behind that statement. The new track features melodic basslines with a bouncy, catchy chorus that will entice any rock or electro-pop fan! “Dark Again” is simply another stellar cut from the talented band.

If you haven’t yet listen to Gold Fileds’ self titled debut EP (below) I urge you to give it a try! You’ll be hooked once you’re through the with last track!

Gold Fields – Treehouse (GLOVES Remix)

Introducing Indie/Pop/Rock group Gold Fields (Mark Robert Fuller, Vin Andanar, Luke Peldys, Rob Clifton, Ryan D’Sylva) from Ballarat, Australia. These Aussie boys have only been around for a few months and they are already being compared to Miami Horror, Friendly Fires and a few others. After listening to their new self-titled debut EP continuously (over and over again–yes, is that good!) I have to agree with those comparisons. Their quality of work is on par with those great bands.

Gold Fields‘ music is a mixture of indie rock with a touch dance pop, much like Bloc Party. They have a great talent for blending all this genres into a fresh, cohesive, and completely approachable sound.

The laid back and breezy “Treehouse” and “Woods” are two stand-out tracks from the EP— their funky baselines and catchy “ooo ooo ooohs” are incredibly addictive and impossible to resist. Perfect for those lazy summer days. Then there is the upbeat and catchy “Moves,” a track that takes the band into electro-dance territory.

Gold Fields recently commissioned GLOVES to do a remix for “Treehouse” and well, it completely blew me away. GLOVES injected some amazing funky house beats with a touch of disco to bring the indie track to the dance floor. The remix is simply amazing! Is yet another outstanding work by GLOVES.

I’m expecting great things from Gold Fields, I have no doubt in my mind that these guys will be the next big thing!

Take a Listen!
