I don’t know about y’all, but I think this whole new wave of “gay-rappers” are taking hip-hop visually and lyrically to a whole new dimension— artists like Mykki Blanco, LE1F, Azealia Banks (Yes, I do consider Banks a gay rapper…have you heard her FANTASEA Mixtape?!!) and Zebra Katz are definitely redefining the genre, each with their own unique esthetic and take on Music, Art, fashion and Culture.

ZEBRA KATZ‘s “Ima Read,” the cool but dark-in-tone take in the art of reading (used in Vogue dancing, ballroom and by drag queens) is a track that stands out visually and lyrically…and it’s one that a lot of people mistake for misogynistic but in fact, it’s a fun and comical kinda track…if you’re fluent in the art of reading of course.

The track was recently given a dance remix by London’s electro-pop duo I Am A Camera. Take a listen and practice your reading skills on the dance floor!
