KINDNESS – “WHO DO YOU LOVE?” Featuring ROBYN

Amidst widespread acclaim for his new album, OthernessBritish artist Kindness (real name Adam Bainbridge) releases the official video for the second single, “Who Do You Love?” which he co-wrote with Swedish songstress, Robyn.

The video, directed by frequent Kindness collaborator Daniel Brereton, is a moving black-and-white video starting Kindness’ and Robyn’s loved ones in England and Sweden, respectively

“This video and this song is about people and connection, and how you can identify who you are by those you love,” says Bainbridge. “Those people say a hell of a lot about you. Daniel’s idea was a series of portraits of our closest friends and family – in a way, the most revealing portraits of us possible. There’s something about seeing all these people together, all these people that would do this for us – it makes the song make a little more sense, and a little more powerful.”

“There is so much information in the faces of people,” explains Robyn. “And some of the people I love more than anything are in this video together with people that mean the world to Adam, so for me it has many dimensions. But for anyone watching it has a beautiful way of communicating the different layers in the song.”

The album Otherness is out now.

Kindness – “Cyan”

Today I received an email that simply read: Kindness – “Cyan” – New Single out October 24th. Attached to the email was the picture and the video you see here. I was completely going to dismiss this but curiosity got the better of me.

“Cyan”, as it seems, is the new video by Adam Bainbridge a new artist under the moniker, Kindness.

The minimalist email was so mysterious that I was expecting the video to be as equally intriguing—but that wasn’t the case.  The video sees Bainbridge walking the streets of NY while the shop-fronts he passes display words that correspond to the song lyrics. Although there’s an artistic view to the visuals there’s nothing mystic or groundbreaking there.

Now, the music on the other hand is simply INCREDIBLE. The track mixes percussion and suave disco beats over Bainbridge‘s spacey vocals; there’s a rhythmic funk to the beat but it also has a captivating, dreamy quality.

Take a listen!
